The Heritage High School football team hasn’t just been drawing the attention of Salem, Clarke Central, Loganville and Rockdale – all teams it has beaten thus far this season – but also a prestigious Metro Atlanta organization.

This week, Patriots’ coach Chad Frazier was selected by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta as its Coach of the Week on Monday. Frazier guided Heritage, ranked No. 9 in the coach’s poll and No. 4 according to Max Preps, to a 41-0 win over cross-town rivals Rockdale last Thursday on WSB-TV. That win helped him earn his first ever coach of the week award.

“The Touchdown Club of Atlanta Coach of the Week award is very special,” Frazier said. “It is a testament of our program’s commitment to excellence. Our players and coaching staff all share in this award.”

The honor is not only a recognition of Frazier but also of the Patriots, coming off their first playoff appearance in six years.

“Our program is continuously moving in an upward direction,” Frazier said. “With the recognition we are beginning to receive, our kids are now seeing the rewards for what we have been instilling in them over the last four years.”
