'ID Theft' movie shoots in Olde Town (June 14, 2012)
Olde Town Conyers once again was transformed into a movie set this week as the Universal Pictures film "Endless Love," shot key scenes in a number of areas.
Commercial Street and parts of Main Street were closed for periods of time starting Thursday as scenes were shot outside the Celtic Tavern, at the Sandwich Factory, and at the Olde Town cemetery.
Rockdale County's assembly building at 901 Main Street, where the Board of Commissioners holds its meetings, was transformed into the offices of the "Camp Creek County Justice of the Peace" and "Sheriff's Office."
Driving scenes are also being shot at Costley Mill Park.
The production also filmed at six other locations throughout metro-Atlanta and Georgia.
The movie is a remake of the 1981 Franco Zeffierlli-directed film by the same name that starred Brooke Shields. The remake will be directed by Shana Feste and will star Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde, according to Variety.
Conyers-Rockdale Camera Ready Liasion Gina Hartsell said film shootings contribute to the local economy with the supplies and services bought locally. "It does make a difference that they're spending their money here," she said.
To list your Conyers-Rockdale County property (residential, commercial or industrial) as a potential filming location, go to the CREDC website and submit your name, property address, property description, cell phone number and several photos at: http://www.credcga.org/camera-ready/tvmovie-properties/
There was a casting call earlier for extras for cemetery and police station scenes. They were looking for men and women ages 18-65 to be cemetery visitors, a groundskeeper, and passersby.
