A Newton County legend received some well-deserved statewide recognition this week as Ron Bradley was inducted into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Bradley enjoyed a 50-year career coaching basketball, racking up 1,372 wins, 26 region coach of the year honors and National Coach of the Year and the National Coaches Award in 2004.
He's best known for his stint as head coach in the 1950s and 60s of the Newton Rams for 18 years, leading the Rams to four state title games and, in 1964, to their only state championship.
Wow. The numbers are impressive.
Congratulations, Coach Bradley, for an amazing run.
