Dear editor,

Thank you Newton County for the warm response to the fundraiser, “Feed the Hearts of the Hungry.” Two-hundred books were sold, which netted $1,600 to The Garden of Gethsemane and $1,420 to The Repairers of the Breach.

Many thanks go out to those who submitted recipes and articles and for all who purchased the cookbooks. A special note of appreciation goes out to YaYa Sisters Gifts ‘n more for stocking and selling the books and to The Covington News for networking the fundraiser.

We can all work together to feed the hearts of the hungry. With the resources at hand in our community, no one should ever be hungry, homeless, or without a friend who will share God’s love and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,
Colleen Capes Jackson
