Dear Editor:
Oxford once called itself City of Oaks,
But all that palaver was only a hoax,
For it just bid goodbye to four of those oaks,
Without a dissent from the Tree Board folks,
Brought down by a chain saw outside City Hall,
Making room for a new one two stories tall,
Hip, hip and hooray for this progress today,
But it leaves trees to wonder what next folks will say.
