Vernie Dyer of Covington, passed away July 16, 2015, at the age of 88. A very Godly woman, she lived her life serving Him, and was recently honored as the Senior Mother of The Church at Covington. She cherished time spent with her family and was proud of all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dyer loved fellowship with people, and in return people adored being around her. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed cooking, but it was her flowers that brought her great joy.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 68 years, Henry Dyer; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tony Terrell; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cathy Dyer; grandsons, Brain Dyer, Kevin Dyer, Chris Morrow, Nathan Morrow; great-grandchildren, Raleigh Dyer, Kennedie Dyer, Hadley Dyer, Banks Dyer, Andrew Holcomb; sister, Malinda Chapman; brother, John Chapman; as well as 3 nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Dyer will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015, 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor David Payne and Pastor Darrell Payne officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday, July 18, from 6-8 p.m..
