Mrs. Talitha Breed Ozley

Talitha Breed Ozley, wife of Rev. John Ozley, left this life to be with the Lord on June 2 at 2:15 p.m. while in hospice care at home. She was a devoted wife of 65 years, and served with “Preacher John” in various pastoral assignments across North Georgia, the most years of which were in Cherokee and Newton Counties. As a beautiful and gracious lady, Talitha served with diligence, love and generosity. She will be remembered by many friends where she served as musician and choral director, as well as teaching music and voice. She was educated in the public schools of Roanoke and Lafayette, Alabama, with some study at Trevecca, Young Harris and LaGrange colleges. She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Ethel Martin Breed; son John, Jr.; four sisters and two brothers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Angie O. Fox (Marcus) and Susan O. Owen (Tom); daughter-in-law, Julie Ozley; one sister, Martha B. Privett (George); six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters-in-law, Mavis Karr and Catherine Ozley.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 5, 3:30 p.m., at Julia A. Porter Memorial United Methodist Church of Porterdale. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, June 4, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Gifts in her memory, in lieu of flowers, should be made to Julia A. Porter Memorial United Methodist Church of Porterdale, where she served with her husband 17 years, as their last fulltime appointment.
