Norma W. Gunn of Lanett, Alabama died on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Covington, Georgia. She was born in Five Points, Alabama on January 11, 1927 to the late Trenton and Mattie Dulin Wilson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lanett, and she had been an employee of West Point Manufacturing Company, in addition to various other industries throughout her life.

A gifted seamstress, she also enjoyed reading, working puzzles, watching game shows, crime dramas, and Gone With The Wind, but most of all she enjoyed visiting with her family. Known for her sweet smile and gentle nature, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Gunn is survived by her children, Sondra and Bobby Myhand of Covington, Georgia and Robert Lewis “Bud” and Sherry Gunn of Little Dutch Valley, New York; grandchildren Melissa and Jim Egan, Brent and Kathy Myhand, Amanda and Jeff Wagner, Michelle and Bill Brann, Brian and Margy Gunn, Travis and Kristin Gunn, Kimberly and Nate Peters and Christopher Gunn; great grandchildren Bradley Wagner, Anna Wagner, Michael Wagner, Erin Egan, Aidan Egan, Charlotte Cook, Mason Myhand, Morgan Myhand, Kayla Brann, Hallie Brann, Bryce Gunn, Grayson Gunn and Camden Peters. She is preceded in death by her daughter Melana Ann Gunn; son James Michael “Mike” Gunn and brother Ernest Lewis Wilson.

Visitation was held in Covington at Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home followed by a graveside service on November 29th at Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, Alabama, with Rev Douglas Gilreath officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 365 Lanett, Alabama 36863 or to the First United Methodist Church 1113 Conyers Street, Covington, Georgia 30014.
