Mrs. Maggie Williams was born on Dec. 8, 1945, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Tessie) Williams.

At an early age, Maggie joined the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Newborn, where she remained a faithful member until her health declined. She was educated in the Newton County School System and graduated from R.L. Cousins High School in 1963. Later, she attended Cosmetology School in Atlanta, Georgia, where she became a Hair Color Specialist. Her first employer was Grady Memorial Hospital. In later years, she worked for Coiffeur’s by Donald as a Hair Color Specialist.

On Aug. 23, 1970, she married her longtime Sweetheart SSG. Eugene Williams of the United States Army. She was a dedicated wife, mother, beautician, Avon salesperson and a faithful Church Usher. 

On Nov. 19, 2018, she departed this earthly life. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Richard L. Williams, Sr.; mother, Mrs. Tessie Williams; brothers, Mr. Richard L. Williams, Jr. and Mr. Linton Gotell.

She leaves to cherish her memories a dedicated husband, Retired CSM Deacon Eugene Williams, Sr.; daughters, Ms. Veronica M. Williams, Ms. Cynthia D. Smiley; son, Mr. & Mrs. Eugene (Kathleen) Williams, Jr.; brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Henry (Wilma) Williams; sister, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph (Annette) Williams; six grandchildren, Jada, Michayla, Za’Keyah, Jamayah, Kaylin and Braeden; sisters-in-law, Gracie L. Rogers and Rosa Mae Williams; two very special nieces, Sharon D. Williams and Thia Gotell; a very special friend, Thelma Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family of the late Mrs. Maggie L. Williams would like to express their sincerest appreciation to each of you for your many acts of kindness shown to them during their hours of bereavement. Your Love and support will never be forgotten. May God’s blessings shower upon you

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, in Newborn, with the Rev. Jerry Stokes officiating.
