PARR Charles E. Parr of Covington, GA died Tuesday March 9, 2010. The body was donated to the Emory School of Medicine. He was born on April 11, 1914 in Conyers, GA to Noel Guy and Faye Maddox Parr. Mr. Parr was a farmer, Chairman of Newton County Tax Assessors. Member of the Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge, Lifetime Member of VFW Post 5290 and a Member of the Covington Elks Lodge. Charles with other members of the Rocky Plains Community founded the Rocky Plains Volunteer Fire Department in 1965. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family,children and grandchildren. Mr. Parr served proudly in the United States Air Force, serving in the Pacific during World War II and also in Korea during the Korean War and retired in 1961 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
