Melinda Hays Lord passed away Monday, January 4, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Forsyth. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

Mrs. Lord was born July 14, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, Julius Dixon Hays, Sr. preceded her in death. She was a graduate of West Georgia College and was retired from Trio Manufacturing Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Jim Lord of Forsyth; children, Jennifer and Eric Wilson of Sandy Springs, Mary Beth and Rich Zamor of Owasso, Oklahoma and Rebecca and Stephen Box of Charlotte, North Carolina; mother, Marilyn Hays of Mansfield; brother, Julius and Jamie Hays of Mansfield; grandchildren, RJ Zamor and Michael Zamor, affectionately known as Hootie and Hays Wilson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, c/o First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
