Martha Reynolds Cole, 78, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease Monday, January 18, 2016. Born and raised in Covington to Everett and Lavada Reynolds, Martha graduated from Newton County High School. She later met her first husband Robert Charles Bayliss and put down roots in St. Petersburg, Florida. Martha was a devoted mother and loved her four boys — the "Bayliss Boys" — Rob (Jan), Matt (Christine), Joe (Johanna) and Mitch. She was also crazy about her grandkids, Ethan, Joe Jr., Grace and Gage.

She is survived by them as well as her sister Vickie Gazaway; several nieces; nephews and cousins. Martha is preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Cole, Jr. and several siblings. Martha loved life and welcomed friends with open arms. She enjoyed volunteering at All Children's Hospital rocking babies. She especially enjoyed listening to her friends Gayle Rice and Diane Froid sing. She was a hard worker and for several years in the 70's to early 80's she owned Triplett's Drive In across from St. Pete High, where she had a long list of devoted regular customers. She soaked up the attention with joy as the "First Lady of St. Pete" when Dr. Cole was the mayor in the mid 80's.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 23, from 1-2:30 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. ML King Street North, St. Petersburg. Martha will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
