Lowell Thomas Biddy, of Covington, passed away April 7, 2009, at the age of 71. He was a member of Covington First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school Administrator, and sang in the sanctuary choir. He was a graduate of Tate High School, Young Harris College, University of Georgia, and Georgia State University. An educator for more than 40 years, Mr. Biddy served several school systems, including Hall, Cobb, Newton, and Rockdale counties. In his early career, Mr. Biddy was a teacher; he later served as a school administrator for more than 30 years. He retired as principal of Heritage High School, Conyers, GA, in 1999. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Biddy, Sr.; brothers, Fletcher Biddy, Jr., Hubert Biddy, Gerald Biddy, and Charley Biddy; sisters, Delores Rouzee, Ann Cowart, and Jeanette Biddy. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Nix Biddy of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Michael H. and Holly Biddy of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Morgan and Harris Biddy of Florence, AL; brothers, M. J. Biddy of Austell, Benny Biddy of Jasper; sisters, Mildred Danforth of Charlotte, NC, Martha Clark of Cumming, Glenda Godfrey of Jasper, and Beth Meers of Alpharetta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service celebrating Mr. Biddy’s life and Christian faith will be held on Saturday, April 11, 10:00 AM, at Covington First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jason Dees officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after services conclude.
