Mrs. Freda Rose Bailey died April 20. the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred (Emily Henry) Rose, she was born in Brandon Hill, Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies in 1931. Raised and educated in Jamaica, Mrs. Bailey was an active member of the East Queens Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Lloyd Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was very proud of her only child, her daughter Sonia. Mrs. Bailey was a very sweet, loving, nurturing and caring mother who was very supportive of her daughter, encouraging her to get a good education. In 2001 Mrs. Bailey moved to Bronx, N.Y., where she attended the Eastchester Evangelist Church. She moved to Georgia in 2008 to be with her daughter because of illness. During her spare time, Mrs. Bailey was an avid reader and excellent decorator. Always resourceful, Mrs. Bailey was good at money management. She had a very friendly, caring disposition, always willing to lend a help hand whenever she could.
Surviving are daughter Ms. Sonia Levy; grandsons Mr. and Mrs. Dexter (Sophia) Facey, Specialist Morton Facey; great-grandchildren Ashley and Allison Facey; a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services were held at noon May 1 in Young Memorial Chapel with Minister Cynthia Marks and Minister Jemarius Huff officiating. Interment followed in New Covington Cemetery.
