Mr. Ernest Norris “Ernie” Johnson, age 55, of Covington passed away November 17, 2011 at Newton Medical Center.  He was born March 3, 1956 in Ozark, Alabama at Fort Rucker to the late Ernest “Son” Johnson and Charlotte Johnson who survives him.  Ernie was the former owner of Covington Radiator and was employed for many years at Bulldog Tire and Midas Muffler in Covington.  He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father Ernest “Son” Johnson and his brother Nathan Randall Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his Mother; Charlotte Johnson of Covington, his Son Philip Johnson and soon to be daughter-in-law Ariana Hodgens of Covington, Brother and Sister-in-law David W. and Linda D. Johnson of Covington, Sister and Brother-in-law Angela and Terry Newkirk of Madison, Georgia along with 3 grandchildren; Dylan, Morgan and Kaitlyn Johnson.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 11 O’clock Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Chapel of J. C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2pm until 4pm on Sunday, November 20, 2011.   J.C.
