Ms. Angela Maria Garner was born in 1960, in Trinidad, West Indies, the daughter of Violet and Samuel Garner. She passed away June 24. Ms. Garner attended Newtown High School, Queens, N.Y., and the City College of New York. As a young woman, she taught religious instruction to the children at the St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in East Elmhurst, N.Y. She was married to Lloyd (Lamon) Ivey on May 25, 1992, in Las Vegas.

In 1994, they moved to Atlanta. She worked at JBS Lynk as an ATM account manager for 12 years and was attending Strayer University working on a bachelor’s degree in medical administration. Ms. Garner was extremely fond of her pet dogs Violet, Helen, Lulu and Reesie.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd Ivey; sister Eleanor; brothers Tyrone, Errol, Kenny, Steven and Michael; sisters-in-law Margo and Patricia; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow, June 29, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Tanner Cline. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 28, at the funeral home.
