UPDATE: COVINGTON - William Dontrel Winston has been arrested for the murder of 19-year-old Caylen Gooch.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office took the 20-year-old Winston, of Covington, into custody without incident on charges of felony murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and armed robbery on Friday.

Winston had been arrested earlier by the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office on Thursday, Aug. 13, on two counts of entering auto. He faces a $30,000 bond.

Gooch was identified as the victim after an investigation stemming from the discovery of his body lying in a street in the Pebble Brook subdivision, off Brown Bridge Road, on Aug. 11.

The Newton County Coroner responded to the scene and the victim was transported to the GBI Crime Lab. NCSO said an autopsy will be completed by the Medical Examiner's Office to determine an exact cause and manner of death.
