STONE MOUNTAIN - On Feb. 18, Congressman Hank Johnson announced that his office has nominated 20 students to attend a U.S. Service Academy: United States Military Academy (West Point), Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy and the ROTC Congressional Scholarship Initiative. 

Three of the nominated students were from Newton County. They each received nominations to two different academies.

Newton High School Senior, Israel Dixon received nominations to the United States Naval Academy and West Point.  

Eastside High School Senior Corinne Hanson received nominations to the United States Air Force Academy and West Point.

Newton High School Senior Kijana Knights received nominations to the United States Naval Academy and West Point.
