ALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in Lowndes County say four people were hospitalized after a storm packing high winds swept through the area.

Police and fire officials tell the Valdosta Daily Times (http://bit.ly/1y1Too2 ) four people were taken to the South Georgia Medical Center and three other people suffered minor injuries Monday. Erika Bennett of the South Georgia Medical Center says the four patients are in good condition.

Officials with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida said in a report that the storm may have included a tornado. Officials said the storm led to the collapse of a building at a lumber processing plant. Officials say the high wind also overturned several railroad cars and caused roof damage to numerous buildings.

A message left with the Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency wasn't immediately returned.
