STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) — DeKalb County authorities say two teenage girls were shot in the chaos following an unauthorized party in a park.
Police say about 1,000 people had gathered at Wade Walker Park in Stone Mountain Sunday night. Officers arrived to break up the unauthorized party, and police say the situation became unruly as the crowd dispersed.
Police say an argument erupted between two groups and shots were fired. Two teenage girls were shot. Both were taken to a hospital and were expected to recover.
Police say the shooter fled. Investigators interviewed the victims and witnesses to try to identify a suspect.
The party was promoted on social media. Police say they plan to review online postings to try to find the party's promoter.
