ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say traffic crashes in Georgia during the Memorial Day holiday weekend claimed the lives of more than a dozen motorists. The Georgia State Patrol said in a statement Tuesday morning that wrecks during the 78-hour holiday period that began Friday evening claimed the lives of 15 people. Statewide, there were 14 fatal crashes reported during the period with two people killed in a crash in Houston County. In the Houston County accident, a coroner says a woman and her infant daughter died at a hospital in Macon after their car was hit by a train.
