ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a man accidentally fired his gun in a northeast Georgia restaurant, sending the bullet through his seat and ricocheting off the floor.

Athens-Clarke County police say the 22-year-old Loganville man was carrying his gun between his belt and his pants at the Fatz Cafe on Wednesday.

Police say that when he reached into his pocket to get money for his meal, one of his fingers got caught in the trigger guard of the .45-caliber pistol.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/KmLyik) that after shooting through the seat and bouncing off the floor, the bullet was found on top of a chair. No injuries were reported.

The man's name wasn't released. A police report states that he had a permit to carry the weapon, but his method wasn't the safest way.
