Ga. woman sentenced in granddaughter's death

MACON, Ga. (AP) — A middle Georgia woman accused of starving her granddaughter to death has been sentenced to life in prison.

Cynthia Baldwin-McCleskey pleaded guilty Monday to felony murder in the death of 11-year-old Ruth Baldwin.

Authorities have said the girl was abused and had been starved for up to three days at a time as a form of punishment.
