ATLANTA (AP) — Security screeners at Atlanta's main airport confiscated an inert hand grenade and three loaded firearms over Labor Day weekend.
A spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, Mark Howell, said Tuesday that the items were discovered in passenger screening lines.
Those involved could face criminal charges and fines.
A 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun was found in a passenger's carry-on bag Friday morning, flowed by a .25-caliber handgun discovered about an hour later. Security screeners found a 9 mm Luger later Friday evening.
The inert hand grenade was discovered Monday morning.
