ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - What can stop a speeding bullet? Turns out, a cellphone.

WALB reports (http://bit.ly/JSDGCu ) that an Albany police officer responding to a hostage situation early Monday morning was shot at during the standoff. Authorities say Officer Willie Hall's cellphone deflected the bullet enough that he was not seriously wounded.

Authorities say the hostages were released but the suspects have not yet been caught. Hall was taken to Phoebe Putney hospital for treatment.
