ATLANTA (AP) — Federal prosecutors say five men have been charged with illegally importing male enhancement products from China.

Authorities said in a statement Thursday that four metro Atlanta men and a man from Alabaster, Alabama accused of illegally importing products containing the active ingredient in Viagra are charged with conspiracy.

Prosecutors say the products contained ingredients that are only available to American consumers who have a prescription for it, and the suspects told their supplier to mislabel the boxes to avoid detection by the Food and Drug Administration and Customs and Border Patrol.

Authorities say the boxes were made to look like they contained beauty products, coffee, tea and pottery.

Prosecutors say the men paid Chinese suppliers more than $2 million for the products over the past three years.
