The Rotary Club of Covington inducted its new officers Tuesday, as Brad Bettis handed over the president’s gavel to Janet Brewer.

Bettis helped lead the club to a banner year during 2013-14, in which it received numerous awards, including Club of the Year during April’s District 6910 convention on Jekyll Island.

Brewer served as president elect during the past year (the Rotary calendar runs from July to July), preparing herself for the role that began Tuesday.

Bettis will assume a vice president role and Newton County Coroner Tommy Davis is the club’s president elect.

Covington Rotary secretary Salisa Bacon was named the club’s member of the year for her hard work during 2013-14.
