A man was stabbed early Sunday morning following an altercation at an Almon Road residence and investigators from the Newton County Sheriff's Office are seeking tips to make sure they catch the right person.

According to NCSO 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell, deputies were called to the residence just before 2 a.m. When they arrived ,they met with a group of people who reportedly told them the suspect had followed them home from an establishment in Conyers to the residence thinking there was a party happening there.

When the suspect arrived, he was reportedly told that he was not welcome and a fight ensued between the victim and the suspect. As a result the victim received multiple lacerations on his arms and abdomen. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in a green Ford Explorer with gold accents. Although the NCSO Criminal Investigation Division have received a positive ID from witnesses, they are still seeking information from the public and still gathering evidence to make sure the right person is charged.

Anyone with information may contact the NCSO at (678) 625-1400 on online at http://sheriff.co.newton.ga.us. All callers can remain anonymous.
