Michael Dylan Dunn, 19, of Covington was the person killed in Tuesday afternoon's crash on Interstate 20.

An 18-wheeler and an Acura Integra - being driven by Christian W. Almodovar,19, of Conyers - collided on Interstate 20 near exit 93 about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, ejecting and killing Dunn, who a passenger in the Integra, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said.

Almodovar was taken to Atlanta Medical Center by ground in critical condition (life flight was not able to fly because of the rain). The driver of the truck, Darnell Copeland, 42, from Tunnel Hill was not injured.

"Preliminary indication is that an Acura Integra was westbound on I-20 when the driver lost control and hit the median wall. The vehicle crossed the lanes of traffic traveling out of control and was hit in the driver's door by a westbound tractor trailer in the right lane. A passenger in the Integra was ejected from the vehicle and hit by the tractor trailer," Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said in a 6:14 p.m. email.

Traffic is now flowing freely; the crash initially closed down two of the three westbound lanes.
