COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) are looking for the person or persons responsible for burglarizing a Covington home and stealing nearly $2,000 worth of property over the weekend.

According to a NCSO incident report, the complainant told the responding deputy that sometime between 1 p.m. June 2 and 1:30 p.m. June 4, somebody made forced entry into the Victoria Boulevard residence, ransacked it and stole several items.

Among the item reported stolen are a 50” TV, three 32” TVs, an Xbox and two laptop computers. According to NCSO spokesperson Sgt. Cortney Morrison, investigators are following leads in the case.

Morrison said it is a good idea for homeowners and renters to maintain serial numbers and makes and models of their items. She said that having records makes it easier for NCSO to return recovered stolen property to its owner.
