COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the person who reportedly robbed a pizza delivery driver Thursday afternoon while she was stopped at a red light.

According to NCSO spokesperson Sgt. Cortney Morrison, the driver told deputies she had just completed a delivery and was stopped behind a black Acura at the intersection of Access Road and Crowell Road around 4 p.m. Nov. 2 when a black male in his mid-20s approached her car.

The male reportedly brandished a small, black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The driver told deputies she gave the robber the money she had and he returned to his vehicle and sped east toward Covington.

The driver was not injured.

The male was described as having a mustache and goatee, and a scar below his right eye. He was wearing a black Nike cap with a swoosh and a black pocket t-shirt.
