SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. — A reward has been offered for information leading to the capture of a man wanted for his wife’s death.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday morning it has posted a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of 39-year-old Jerome Ray Mobley.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office matched the offer later in the day.

The search for Mobley reached into its second day Thursday. More than 100 people have been involved in looking for him. The Walton County resident is wanted on charges of felony murder and aggravated assault, and for two counts of first-degree cruelty to children.

Mobley is considered armed and dangerous. Officials say citizens should not approach him, but should call 911.

Social Circle City Schools officials said Thursday they would restrict outdoor activities and had requested an added police presence on campuses.

WSB Channel 2 reported authorities got a call from the victim’s home on Knox Chapel Road at about 6:45 a.m. Wednesday. That’s east of Social Circle near Hard Labor Creek State Park.

The truck Mobley is believed to have left the home in was found about a mile and a half away in Morgan County.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies from Gwinnett, Morgan and Walton counties, Doraville police officers, the Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the state Department of Corrections have been involved in the search.
