MONROE, Ga. – A
Georgia State Patrol helicopter crew has located the four landscaping box trucks
stolen last month from a Covington business.
According to a press release from Covington Police Department Public Information Officer Justin Stott, the trucks were found Aug. 1 in a field off of H D Atha Road in Walton County. GSP was reportedly aware of the stolen trucks and discovered them as they were flying.
The trucks were stolen from Great Estates Landscaping at 14481 Lochridge Boulevard during the early morning hours of July 12. A fence was found cut on the west side of the business and the thieves were seen on video surveillance leaving the area.
At the time of the theft, the trucks were loaded with zero turn mowers, blowers and weed eaters with a value reported to be in excess of $150,000. Stott said there was no equipment in the trucks when they were found. According to the release, the trucks were taken in for processing.
Stott said there are still no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
