COVINGTON, Ga. - Eastside High School is on lockdown due to a burglary in progress on Fernhill Court, which is adjacent to the school.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) Sgt. Cortney Morrison said a perimeter has been set up and K-9s and deputies are on scene attempting to locate the suspect.

The suspect has been described as a black male wearing a blue hoodie. He is reportedly tall and slender and possibly wearing red and black shorts.
