Cause, manner of death determined for Kelly Marshall

COVINGTON, Ga. - Newton County Coroner Tommy Davis confirmed the cause and manner of death have been determined in the death of Kelly Marshall, the 27-year-old woman whose deceased body was found near the Yellow River in August.

Davis said the results of the autopsy determined the manner of death to be homicide and the cause of death to be asphyxia. Davis said the circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation by the Newton County Sheriff's Office. 

Marshall’s body was found Aug. 12 by deputies who responded to a suspicious call in the 200 block of Mt. Tabor Road.
