BREAKING: Man flown to Grady after morning fire

COVINGTON, Ga. - Deputies with the Newton County Sheriff's Office and firefighters with Newton County Fire Rescue are actively working an investigation that led to a local man being transported by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital with burns to his body. 

The victim was reportedly working on an engine in his yard this morning when the fire started, NCSO Public Information Officer Deputy Latavia Washington told The Covington News this morning. 

The male victim was transported to Alcovy High School and flown to the Atlanta hospital for treatment of his burns. 

Washington was not able to provide any additional information at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
