COVINGTON, Ga. –
An Atlanta man was killed Sunday evening when his vehicle left the expressway and
rolled over in Newton County, authorities said.
According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Cortney Morrison, Fred McGranahan, 55, was on Interstate 20 returning from a weekend hunting trip around 6:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Toyota Sequoia at exit 93/Highway 142 causing the vehicle to overturn.
Morrison said McGranahan was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. There were no other vehicles involved.
