Covington Academy celebrates new location
Academy

Covington Academy has a new home to teach its students, and the “Home of the Bulldogs” is open for business. The private school celebrated its new location at 396 Elks Club Road in Covington with a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by the Covington/Newton County Chamber of Commerce.

This year, the school’s Key Club, Builders Club and Beta Club — both middle and high school – collected 4,800-5,000 canned goods and donated them to the city Kiwanis Club, which intends to donate the cans to the Salvation Army and food pantries, according to Amanda McCullough, principal for Covington Academy. They have the first Builders Club and Key Club of any private school in Newton County.
