NEWTON COUNTY — The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) recently awarded a contract to resurface Interstate 20 in Newton County from the Newton/Rockdale County line to Exit 92/Alcovy Road.

Pittman Construction Company has been awarded the contract, valued at $5.23 million. Completion is estimated for late December.

A start date has not been determined, according to a press release from GDOT.
