COVINGTON, Ga. — The city of Covington recently came together to celebrate the Fourth of July once more, with the annual Independence at the Park event on the Square. But, for the second year in a row, issues arose that led to visible police activity and caused some to fear for their safety. In the weeks following the event, the city has yet to put out a public statement regarding the future of Independence at the Park, as safety concerns persist.
