The Rockdale-Newton League of Women Voters will kick off its first voter registration drive tomorrow at the Newton County Library on Floyd Street.

The event, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will allow persons who aren't currently registered to vote in any of the upcoming city elections in November.

In order to register, you must meet the following criteria: You must be a citizen of the United States, be a legal resident of Newton County, be at least 17 and a half years old to register and 18 to vote, not be serving for conviction of a felony and must not have been found mentally incompetent by a judge.

The Rockdale-Newton League of Women Voters will be holding another event in Rockdale County later this month for Rockdale County residents.
