Covington Mayor Ronnie Johnston visited Cousins Middle School Friday to answer questions from students.

Questions ranging from "how much does a mayor earn a year" to "what do you do about the haters?" were part of the inquiries made in the Q&A session, featuring roughly 100 students.

Mayor Johnston said he enjoys the random questions because it's a way to educate students about politics and the beautiful city of Covington.

One middle school student asked the mayor if he thought Covington has lost the southern charm, to which the Johnston replied. "No, I think we are one of the few cities that works hard to preserve our rich history."
