Long John Silver's on U.S. Highway 278 reopened Tuesday for lunch, after being temporarily closed Monday afternoon when a piece of equipment stopped working and the building became very hot and filled with smoke.

Covington Fire Capt. Tony Smith said the motor on the exhaust suppression unit quit working causing the heat and smoke.
