The community is invited to a free concert featuring Nashville recording artist Corey Crowder tonight in downtown Covington.
Main Street Covington director Josephine Kelly said Crowder plans to perform on the square at 7 p.m. as a part of the Downtown Covington 2nd Friday Summer Concert Series.
Kelly said Crowder has performed in Covington in the past and he has toured with performers such as Willie Nelson. She said Main Street Covington and the Arts Association in Newton County would host the event.
She said though the concert is free, she welcomes everyone attending the event to patronize downtown restaurants. The concert will move to Newton County High School in the event of rain.
"We'd like to encourage everyone to come out. He's a great performer and I think it will be a great night of entertainment," she said.
Kelly said on Sept. 14, Uptown Entertainment Band plans to perform for the community. She said that will be the final performance for this year's summer concert series. For more information about the concert, call (770) 385-2077.
