Covington to be gas provider to Baxter
Baxter-aerial

The City of Covington will be the natural gas provider to Baxter International.

The city council approved 5-0 Monday night to be the distributer, representing a trio of Covington, Madison and Social Circle. Since three cities are part of Stanton Springs, one must be responsible as a utilities provider.

Baxter International reached the agreement with Covington, which has an agreement with Social Circle and Madison.
“All costs to the city of Covington have to do with Baxter will be split between the three cities,” Covington City Manager Leigh Ann Knight said.

Covington will get 37 ½ percent of the fees, split with Social Circle and Madison.
