Candlelight home tour today

Eight elegant homes decorated for the holidays will be featured in the Covington Candlelight Town & Country Christmas Tour, to be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The event, presented by the Satsuki Garden Club, will feature the following properties:

- The home of Sheri and Matt Roberts, 65 Glengarry Chase (2-6 p.m.) This home was built in 2005 and will be the site for the Metro Coffee Shop coffee break.

- The home of Kerry and Dan Chapman, 5 Kinoch Court (2-6 p.m.). This six bedroom, six-and-a-half bath home was built in 2002 and has a 10,000-square-foot interior. There’s an Irish pub in the basement and a 12-ton fountain crafted from imported Italian stone out front.

- Burge Plantation, a circa 1809 property at 2659 E. Ga. Highway 142 in Mansfield (2-6 p.m.). The property is a private hunting and shooting and family club and an organic farm.

- Sandtown Place, 365 Hodges Circle in Mansfield, the circa 1840 home of Sue and Bill Hodges (2-8 p.m.). This home will feature eight Christmas trees, including one decorated with antique ornaments.

- Mount Pleasant, circa 1820s, 139 Cedar Lane (2-8 p.m.). The home of Ann Brewer was a plantation property and reflects Federal-style influences. It has a free-standing circular stairway, and Federal-style mantels and moldings in the front rooms.

- Pat Dimsdale’s circa 1900 Victorian cottage, 4106 Monticello St. (4-8 p.m.) This home has been restored and features 12-foot bead-board ceilings, heart-pine floors and an oak mantel.

- The Neal-Sanders-Ramsey-White House, circa 1826, 5129 Floyd St. (4-8 p.m.). The house has been the home of the Hubert White family since 1995 and has been restored with a focus on historical accuracy and craftsmanship.

- Ridgeline, 5112 Dearing St., the Georgian-style home of Becky and Sam Ramsey (4-8 p.m.). The home was built in 1984.
