For almost a quarter century the Bravo family has been serving up authentic Mexican cuisine in the Conyers area.

Through their special dishes and fast, friendly service they have forged relationships with hundreds of area residents. Ruben Bravo, son of owners Willie and Tina Bravo, said his family was deeply upset with the recent news that one of their best customers — Brian Mahaffey — had been killed

"His family has been coming to our restaurant since we were on Old Salem," Bravo said.

Mahaffey, a Rockdale County Sheriff’s deputy, was shot and killed while serving a warrant on May 8.

"He had his last birthday at our Honey Creek location the Friday before it happened," Bravo said. It was his 28th birthday.

Because Mahaffey left behind a wife and two small children, the Bravos wanted to lend a helping hand.

Saturday 10 percent of all of the proceeds taken in at both the Ga. Highway 138 and the Honey Creek locations will go to Mahaffey’s wife and children.

Los Charros is known for their flavorful fajitas, authentic carne asada tacos and specialty dishes such as "pollo loco." The restaurants offer a lunch and children’s menu daily and stock full service bars that boast several brands of imported beer and three flavors of frosty margaritas.
