SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. – Shire, the leading global biotech focused on rare disease, will host a career fair for its Covington location Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the manufacturing facility, located at 505 Shire Parkway in Social Circle.

Shire is asking prospective employees interested in Biotech manufacturing to join the company for a tour of the facility, meeting the staff and learn about the hiring process and a day-in-the life of a Shire employee.

“We’re actively hiring for a variety of positions at our site, including manufacturing technicians, quality control technicians, material handlers, engineers and others,” Gabe Khouli, communications lead for Shire’s Georgia facility, said. “All positions have a minimum requirement of a high school diploma, while others require secondary degrees and/or related experience.”

“We have dozens of openings at the site and will have additional openings later this year and in 2019. We offer competitive wages in line with the biotech manufacturing industry.”

Prospective employees are asked to bring more than 10 copies of their resume, notetaking materials, business cars (if available) and an interest in the industry.

“At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to network with members of the Shire Georgia team who work in the functions with current job openings,” Khouli said. “Attendees will have a chance to tour the facility and see some of our state-of-the-art manufacturing suites and laboratories up close.”
