Snapping Shoals EMC’s second Annual Car Show will take place Saturday at the co-op’s headquarters at 14750 Brown Bridge Road in Covington.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until noon; the show will end around 2 p.m.

If cars are still coming in, registration can be extended to a later time. The cost is $20 per car.

All proceeds benefit Relay for Life, one of the American Cancer Society’s main fundraisers for cancer research.
The entrance fee includes a raffle ticket for door prizes. The door prizes vary as they have been donated by local organizations and range from gift cards to free oil changes.

One raffle ticket will also win a good sum of money; money will be put into a pot and one lucky winner will receive half of it.

Last year, the winner won around $200.

Last year, the show was held in a less convenient location, organizers said, and there were only about 40 people in attendance.

“We’re hoping to see more people come out with the location change,” said Kelly Wilson, one of the event coordinators.
Wilson said they have gotten many responses from car owners.

They are expecting anywhere from 60 to 70 cars on display.

There will be several different categories to award the cars, such as best in show.
