MONROE, Ga. - Piedmont Walton Hospital will host a Rock for Relay event on Thursday, April 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Wayfarer Music Hall located in downtown Monroe.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Relay for Life, the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
“We look forward to hosting this upcoming event,” said Haley Roberson, staff pharmacist at Piedmont Walton, who helped to coordinate this event. “Relay for Life is committed to saving lives from cancer, and the donations that we provide help many around the world, as well as those close to home.”
Thursday’s event will include food and drinks, a musical showcase from local bands Funky Bluester and Legitimate Beef and a silent auction.
The money raised through Relay for Life events helps support the American Cancer Society's mission to save lives, celebrate life, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Donations are used to fund life-saving cancer research, patient support services, prevention and education information, and detection and treatment programs.
“We invite everyone in the community to join us for this fun event, as we raise money for an important cause,” said Michael Wynne, director of pharmacy at Piedmont Walton, who also helped to coordinate the event and plays in Legitimate Beef, one of the bands that will be featured Thursday.
The Piedmont Walton Rock for Relay event will take place on Thursday, April 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Wayfarer Music Hall. Event tickets will be on sale at Wayfarer’s door for a minimum $10 donation.
